Overview

Strengthening Global Cooperation on Disaster Risk Reduction for a Sustainable Future

The 4th Forum was held ahead of the final five years of implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015–2030), to strengthen international cooperation and global–local partnerships. Carrying forward the outcomes and recommendations of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2025), held in Geneva in June 2025, it shared good practices and innovative partnerships to accelerate risk reduction at the national and city levels.

Over the two days, sessions and networking covered city-to-city cooperation through MCR2030, connecting policy research with decision-making, multi-level governance and community engagement, and financing for disaster risk reduction — how cities can attract investment and mobilize public–private partnerships and international climate and resilience funds.

Participants were also invited to a tour of the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) arranged by the Incheon Tourism Organization, exploring the host city’s smart city sites.
